Some people see conspiracies everywhere. Bill Moyer’s has decided that there is a connection between the Bush-2 White Houses attempts to evicerate the Freedom of Information Act, especially as how it applies to the Executive branch and the fact that the current Vice President worked for Nixon and saw how that destroyed Nixon. Hmmmm…. of course, the fact that this is the first time executive privilege has been claimed for the Vice President as part of this is mighty suspicious.

I’ve started playing with OmniWeb. Fortunately, someone got here before I did and the one problem so far (images appearing broken) was an easy fix once I searched the Radio discussion list.
We’ll see how it goes. It IS nice having a working spell-checker to use with Radio now 
. Yes, OmniWeb DOES spell checking in a text box, unlike IE. Yeah !
update: Internet Explorer is resisting this change. It changed the default browser back to it the alst time I ran it.

It’s been almost a month since I last mowed my lawn. Unfortunately, the lawn mower is broken…. guess I could get out some scissors….
Lawn mower isn’t completely broken anymore… spent an hour today mowing my minuscule lawn.

There are some web sites I hit at least once a month. Some once a week.
There are several web sites I check out every day… mostly technology news related. And then there are one of two I check more than once a day. Dave Winer’s Scripting News is one of those. So the silence from some time Friday until now has been deafening.
Apparently he is in the hospital though there aren’t any details.

Another call to arms… or just plain politics ?
It looks like anyone objecting to the new Bush “Office of Oppression and Suppression” (aka the Office of ‘Homeland Security’) and its’ inherent increase in government buerocracy isn’t being patriotic enough…
Given the foundation of this country on the basis of resistance to oppression of the many by the few…. this seems a bit much. We’re already starting to hear comparisons to the way the Nazis took over Germany, by eliminating.
anyone who doesn’t agree with them and it looks like the Bush White House is attempting to stack the decks against all those who oppose their business methods by making it un-patriotic to even question what they are doing…
I don’t pretend to be a political person of any size or shape…. and I found NONE of the candidates for the last presidential election to be compelling as future leaders but I’m not the first person to object to the way things are going….

Several months ago I purchased the “Norah Jones” CD at Borders – $10.99 – regular price in the jazz section. That was before she started getting airplay and notice.
Today I was back in Borders and noticed the same CD was now in their top 20 / popular selections near the door. The list price for the same CD is now $18.99, on sale for $13.99.
So…. now that this record is selling more than a few copies it costs more ? The price almost doubles ?
I guess I’m in the wrong business….
