Standing On Boxes

Well, I watch episodes of one of my favorite tv shows. This year it was 3 episodes of “Buffy the Vampre Slayer” – “Welcome to the Hellmouth”, “The Harvest”, and “Prophecy Girl” (Episodes 1.1, 1.2, 1.12). All classics. They were all so young when these were filmed. And don’t watch too closely, you’ll see all sorts of errors or mistakes or strange things (at least on the DVDs)

Trick-or-treaters ? Didn’t see a single one on my way home and none came to the door. Guess I’ll have to eat that candy by myself. Darn .

First episode of “Tru Calling”. Need I say more ?

Yes!

Good thing I liked it ( FWIW ) otherwise I might have been confused and thought it was:

1. A shoe commercial (all that running)
2. A watch commercial (Keeps on ticking even following time travel)
3. A cell phone commercial (Can you here me now ?)

Fox should give Eliza Dushku a raise to pay her for all those shoes she’s going to wear out if her new show lasts the season.

First time I’ve watched a show on Fox in years (Since the first season of “Dark Angel”). But am I in the demographic Fox wants ? And will that station be there next week (It went off my local cable service right after the show ended.)

In some ways, today was too quiet… and yesterday. Now what ?

Today’s well known shopping tip – Don’t go shopping on an empty stomach. You never know what you’ll end up buying … ouch.

A corollary – don’t make yourself a large meal afterward. A big mistake.

At 2AM this morning it suddenly becomes 1AM. Only in America. And only once a year. What am I going to do with the extra hour ?

What makes a beanbag chair so great? Only users know and they aren’t telling.

Ok, who is Fiona Horne, the token ‘cute witch’ [A blonde Australian] in the “Truth or Scare” episode on Halloween ? Why did they have someone in psuedo-scary makeup for their episode on witches (Someone claiming to the the official Salem witch.) instead of her?

Is that a description of Discover Kids Channel’s “Truth or Scare” marathon tonight (probably every episode they have) or some toy. Or both ? Compared to most shows about such topics, this is pretty light-weight stuff. For kids, of course. But it is interesting watching the host (Michelle Trachtenberg) changes over time, getting better/more comfortable.

Tru Calling, the show Eliza Dushku picked instead of a BtVS spinoff, starts on Fox on October 30th. From the little I’ve seen (promos, etc) I’m hoping it lasts the whole season. Could be interesting. Not sure if the idea is enough to last more than one season.

Of course, the idea – main character learns about the future and tries to change it has been done before (UPN’s “7 Days” and that show about the newspaper on CBS for example) but this is the first with a female character being the main character.

We’ll see.

And to make their job much easier, the day before, (today) a reporter and camera crew from Knoxville Channel 6 ( WATE, an ABC affiliate apparently) tromped around near the caves these researchers plan on investigating.

What was wrong with this idea ?

Just had an urge for peanut butter when making my lunch this morning…
happens occasionally. Nothing to be afraid of.

And now I need to hop in my car and head to work… before traffic gets too bad.

In another fine example of morning news show attack interviewing, Matt Lauer chastized Nicole Kidman for doing a seduction scene with Anthony Hopkins in her new movie with her clothes on!!!!!

And what, pray tell, is wrong with that ? I didn’t catch her reaction but since she was doing movie promotion I’m sure she didn’t do anything to him for that bit of gauche idiocy.

Okay, Anthony Hopkins and Nicole Kidman together ? Without clothes ? I’m not sure the American public is ready for that bit of entertainment.

Weird… it snowed up at the log cabin in NH today. Or so I’ve been told. It was in the 60′s here in Knoxville today. I’m not missing the cold weather.
