Deja Vu… thought I already said this…

Car repair bill for December ? $1K thanks to a new radiator & water pump. Disappointing since I had the water pump replaced 7 months ago.

Okay. Looks like it was 1/2 snow on top of a coating of ice. The entire parking lot here is a big ice skating rink. Cleaned the snow & ice off the car so it would melt off faster when it warms up and half a dozen people were sure to tell me that driving would be a bad idea .

I just looked outside and it is actually snowing enough to stick on the ground. There isn’t a lot ( approx. 1/2 inch) and it’ll be gone by Sunday. The natives must be going crazy. I wonder if the city even has a snow plow anywhere.

Only 6 days until Christmas. Still need to buy a few presents & get them in the mail. And then there’s the whole Christmas card issue. I’m actually sending them out this year since I won’t be seeing anyone.

Not looking forward to Christmas this year… can’t afford the trip to NH.

My mother is very un-internet capable. She has a computer she does things with but she has no desire to do e-mail or use anything internet related. Imagine my surprise finding one of her paintings on the internet. I wonder if she knows ?

Yeah! Thanks to Mike Taylor at German Motor Works in Knoxville, TN, I now have a new radiator in my 530i. A much happier car. It was too dark to pop the hood and take a look but I can do that in the morning. As far as cost goes… I think he undercharged me for labor. I was expecting 3 hours but he charged for only 2. And he got the radiator cheaper than the dealer had it for. Cool stuff.

No real resolution on the buggy-anti freeze issue. I’ll find out Monday if it is just a hose or the whole radiator.

The buggy started leaking coolant this morning. Not sure how much is actually leaking but after stopping approximately half a cup came pouring out before it stopped. Can’t drive it very far like that… hopefully I can get it to a garage tomorrow but the one I called… was too busy to even tell me if he could look at it…

I was given a stack of those glitter/gell pens.. many different colors. Very odd to write with. Not sure if it has a good/bad effect on my writing…

The grass is still green here in TN. When I left NY Saturday afternoon there was snow on the ground. The ground in NH was brown (no real snow) on Sunday. Very strange. Going to take some getting used to.

All back. Got back from T-giving ( 2800 miles on the buggy in 10 days ) with no major problems (Other than the emergency flex-disc replacement on the car on Wednesday – ouch).

Just need to write up my trip…

And then onward to Christmas…
