Standing On Boxes

I made it to something resembling first draft status for one fic (The Other Girl – Pt. 3) and didn’t with the other. And now we’re off to NaNoWriMo and won’t be back to RR until December. Unless I need a change of pace during the month.

The natives are getting a bit restless on USENet. Hopefully things will get back to normal after the election.

I don’t think I’ll get the next parts of The Other Girl and Red Raider – Vol. I done before Monday. They just don’t seem to be coming together enough for that. Unless a miracle occurs, I’ll get back to them in December.

I’ve added some Telzey Amberdon info to the idea entry for that fic idea. Not sure I’ll ever do anything with it. But I had it written down so…

The Two Part 12 – all done and posted. [ The entire fic is half done - 12 parts - 43,044 words. ]

After I recover from NaNoWriMo (some time in December) I’ll start working on the next part.

Added something to The Other Girl Part 3 – not sure I’ll keep it.

Almost ready to post The Two Part XII – needs a little tweaking of the final paragraph or two… maybe. And then it is as done as it’ll get for a while.

The Two Part XII actually made it to first draft status. I think that’s the fastest I’ve written a part of that. Of course, it could take anywhere from a day to a week to get it revised into a postable format. We’ll see. NaNoWriMo starts in just over a week..

The Two – Part XI made it out into the wild. I’m sure there are errors, typos I missed… I’ll catch them tomorrow….

Apparently thick and chunky means something different to whomever is in charge of Wal-mart salsa than it does anyone else… think thick like a jar of tomato sauce. I was expecting chunks of tomatoes not thick tomato sauce. I guess it’ll work as a ketchup substitute… certainly wasn’t worth getting chips for.

Lots of things done…

• Updated The Two Part XI – now at first draft stage – should be done by Sunday
• Started posting parts of The Two Part XII – a basic idea of where it’ll go.
• Added more to one of those Lara Croft ficlets. Just need to add the final action scene and revise it.
• Added an entry for my proposed entry in “National Novel Writing Month” (See my Wips page). A 3rd Slayer/Road Trip/Crossover based on several ideas I’ve had in the past. Just an outline so far… no actual part writing until November 1st.

And then the next part of my fic The Two will enter the long painful revision process. It’s already longer than I expected. But that seems to be happening with each part. More words in each. Not sure why… it doesn’t feel longer.

Wal-mart has some interesting ‘salsa’ flavors… this week’s selection – “Lime and Garlic” – basically a thick tomato sauce with chunks of raw garlic and lime juice. Edible but I probably won’t buy any more of it.

Not sure what happened but I’m already half way thru the next part of The Two. That would be pretty cool if I could get the whole thing half done before the end of October.

I’m thinking about participating. Not sure yet. It’s not so much a contest as an event. The rules allow for submitting fan fiction. It just has to be 50,000 (or more) words written from November 1st thru November 30th. If I attempt it I’ll want to get ahead on my current fics. We’ll see if I can do that. ANd then there’s the whole heading to NE/NY for Thanksgiving week, giving me 20 days to do it… an average of 2300 words a day.

Yeah! T! Way to go!
