Standing On Boxes

But no episode watching tonight… didn’t want to sit in front of a tv tonight. That’s what weekends are for .

If you don’t read the comments (I get them e-mailed to me)… “Strife Aileron” has provided a URL for the Buffyology website. The site owner has put together a searchable cross reference (in a database) of a complete set of transcripts for all of the episodes. (though the interior/exterior scene info looks like it’s from the scripts… which is a bit too brief/generic for my needs) So if you want to find something… that makes life much easier. He/she has also put together an extensive cast and character list for all of the episodes that looks very useful.

I don’t see anything like my list… but I’m sure someone will do something like that eventually (hopefully cross referenced… which is way beyond what I’m putting together (which is for my own use, as I’ve said, so isn’t necessarily as useful as the above.)
or even could put together (my blog is static pages only… I don’t have room for any sort of searchable database like Buffyology has…

Last two days… instead of writing… of the fic kind… I’ve been building a list of places in and around Sunnydale… by reading transcripts, watching episodes, an actual script (or something resembling one on the Season 2 DVD), and from memory.

I think it’s going to be an all summer thing… and I might need to start keeping track of which episodes I’ve looked at…

The transcripts don’t have a lot of scenery detail. The scripts only have major setting info (building this, cemetery that.)

The script for “What’s My Line – Pt. I” on the Season 2 DVD says Kendra is 17. So she was actually older than Buffy. Assuming that counts as canon.

Note: One esteemed canonologist has pointed out to me that Kendra’s “age” in that script is probably just a ‘stage direction’ for the people who hire the actors for a particular episode and should not be taken as anything resembling canon. Okay. I understand the reasoning (Her age is never mentioned on screen- verbally or visually).

This is for my own use… so don’t expect a lot. Or even much…

A List of Sunnydale locations

I usually try to keep fic parts under 4K words. More than that and it starts to become unmanageable. “Out” is long past that point now but I’m not sure there is a natural place to break it. Yet.

I believe it has approximately 1/3 to go before I finish it. At least 3 scenes to write, and others to flesh out. That’s assuming I actually stop putting scenes in that I hadn’t planned on originally.

Maybe it isn’t new… but I haven’t seen it before. The Good Eats “Exorcist” episode. The food?

Peas, of course (sweet peas and field peas).

I should never type in something, that I wrote the night before, in a hurry when I should be getting ready for work…

The whole Bronze scene in ‘Out’ really needs to be rewritten now… with a mallet. I think it veers too close to parody for comfort right now. Maybe I’ll fix it tonight… maybe after I finish the whole thing.

Can you spot the Stargate reference? Not enough to turn it into a crossover… I’m just setting things up for a possible future crossover… if I ever feel like it. Not sure I’ll even keep it in there past the next draft.
